CA18DET swap into 71 datsun 510 wagon

Hey, i was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has done this swap before. I really like the engine because it is very cheap as far as trubo engines go, and i have heard that the stock internals can handle 400hp. please post any knowledge about this type of swap. thanks

Because it is a pretty rare swap here in the states, there is not a lot of documentation for it. Is it safe to assume that because the CA18 and SR20 both came in the S13 240sx, that they both use the same motor mounts? if so you could use an SR20 swap kit.BUt after that, you are on your own.just a thought...

you can use the crossmember, but the downpipe, engine mounts, and some other little stuff is different. i got my swap kit from mad dat motorsports, the are in australia where this is a popular swap. check out there website, the guys name is craig i believe. also check out turbophile.com australian 510 4 door with a ca.the motor fits good. check out my car, these are old pics.http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....r=839

the swap is exactly the same as for a CA18DET 510 sedan.see thread headed up "CA18DET"
