Another ca question.... i have searched and i have been reading that the ca wiring is the same as the sr. is this 100% true? can i follow the exact steps for the sr swap and have it work on my ca?? For instance, on the sr harness there are two plugs that run up behind the battery that you have to cut and splice with ka plugs. is this the same wiht the ca??thanks.

Yes. It's just like wiring up an SR. The only problem is that you have to run a wire for the knock sensor directly to the computer. It was designed to run through the lower harness in the stock setup, but since the knock sensor runs through the engine harness on the SR and KA, there isn't any wire in the lower harness of the KA.

Where on the ecu does the knock sensor wire go? just so im sure the knock sensor that comes out of the ca block will have some wires that need to go directly to the ca ecu.... completely avoiding the harness.. right?

Pin 28 if I remember correctly. You can actually wire it to the upper harness behind the battery if you want, but itll be fine either way.

When i recently did the CA swap I followed the SR wiring guide to the letter. Everything is the same, even the wire colors. The wiring is quite easy if you take your time and double check everything. And yes, the 2 plugs behind the battery also have to be wired in just like the SR swap. Do your research using the stickies and it'll be a breeze for you. Good luck!!!!

All your questions can be answered by reading the stickies. Tons of info there to guide you along as you do the swap. There is also a FSM that you can download and it comes with an ECU Pinout diagram.

Lets see some pics of your ride!!!

its not my build thread but what the hell, for referance!

make sure you take this off your ca transmission

you CAN run your factory KA ac compressor and lines, i didnt even disconect anything! pushed it to the side and hooked it directly up to my CA bracket ( you gotta run another power steering belt which it 2 ribbed)

and there we go.

im not sure if the above post was sarcasm of what, but i hope it helps

i just used my power steering belt since my car is a 90 and i didnt have the cash to buy a 91-94 high pressure hose.

just go to autozone or something and buy another power steering belt.

No sarcasm from me at all man. A lot of people end up giving up on their projects. Its nice to see people come in and ask questions, get the answers they need and carry on working.

By the way, your engine looks REALLY clean!

Ok, my bad I thought turbodcivic was the OP. Still a nice car.

You should probably make your own thread for your build so I may drool there and not upset the OP in case he has more questions or he wants to post his own pics.
