OK,

SO, I went to my buddies place to pick up two ca18det engines for my customers, my buddy got 4 of them. So I am all happy that at least 2 of them are good.I did a leak down test on the first one, cylinder 1,2 are awesome, but 3,4 are bad.get the second engine, cylinder 1.3 are good but 2, 4 are bad.now I starting to get worried a bit.

get the third engine, turbo is seized, and the engine seems to have a spun connecting rod bearings, the engine turns half a turn and it just siezes.

Now I am getting pretty upset.I got to the fourth engine and dam, it is almost new, leak down test measured as good as a new engine, turbo spins very nice, transmission shifts very smooth, so I am all happy, that I got at least one good.

Here is the other thing, my buddy gave me a very good deal on the three engines that are bad, so if any one is interested, I could get the engines, replace the connecting rod bearings and main bearings, piston rings, headgasket, water pump, timing belt and valve cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets, front and rear main seals, all with nissan parts, and let these engines go for a decent price since I will be getting them for cheap. The engines have cut harness and no ECUs.

What do you guys think.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Rafi,

let say under 1300 and over 1000, not sure how much the parts will cost me, but I can get a good discount from Nissan, since I deal with them all the time, the engine package will include, engine+ 5spd transmission+ cas, alternator, starter,a/c,ps.turbo, cut harness, I will replace the connecting rod bearings, main crank bearings, piston rings, water pump, valve cover seals, oil pan seals, front and rear main seals, headgasket, timeing belt and thats about it,

what do you think, parts will run me around 300 dollars, may be less, i have to get a price from nissan

OR If you want to buy the engine the way it is , thats fine too.PULSAR GTR,

I'd be interested in one that hasn't been rebuilt yet, since I can get decent prices (friend works at a shop and can get shop prices, if I can't coerce Courtesy into giving me 240SX Club discount on non-240 parts) and I was wanting to rebuild and hopefully go 1mm over anyways.. and of course, depends on the cost. at those ranges I can afford to get the engine sooner! Which means I can tear it apart and get some rebuilding stuffs done, then next paycheck or 2 get the rest of the parts & etc and have it in 2-4 weeks sooner than otherwise.

Might be interested in a motor as it sits... no rebuild, etc.. I was planning on whatever I got rebuilding/freshening it anyways. Hmmm how much as they sit? Just curious....

hi, I am thinking around 700USD for each engine + transmission and every thing that plugs on them plus shipping. If you can rebuild it your self, you will have a new engine at a cost of no more thatn 1000USD,

Man thats a great price for that motor set needing a rebuild... I'm stuck right now though as I've got the DSM I still need to finish and another toy needing the trans reinstalled. Can't get a motor set until I finish those :( Shouldn't have a problem getting rid of it though! Your the man! Hmmm your buddy gets motors/clips pretty often eh? Does he take requests? I.E. in a couple months I want a full clip..

Hi,

My buddy got over 2000 engines in his store, I was talking with him, he said it is getting hard to find these engines(ca18det), there is a huge demand on the SR20det, not the ca18det, I asked him to try and get front clips, and he said he will try.

Thanks,PULSAR GTR

Hi,

The deal my buddy gave me is for the complete engine with the transmission, The transmission will be going with the engine, the price is good for the set, you can always have a spare transmission or sell it and make some money.

I think I will be shipping one of them this weekend, so if you want it , shoot me an email this way you can save me 2 hr drive.

Thanks,

Might be wise that some of you take pulsar up on this offer because these beloved engines and trannies are becoming scarce.
