i highly doubt it, why would you even want to try???? the CA head isnt designed nearly as well as the SR (from what i can remember from looking at bench flow charts)

Probably a low CC combustion chamber which would give a compression increase, but not so boost friendly.

He is completely and totally unequivocally 100% full of steamy fragrant BULLS**T!

Lets take a very quick look at the reasons it won't work.

SR is chain driven timing, the CA is belt.

SR and CA have different bore sizes.

SR and CA have different cylinder spacing.

SR and CA have different head bolt patterns and water passages.

Whoever this guy is he is either very very confused or a pathological liar.

but if it could of been done ( just saying) it would eliminate the sr20s rockers, thatd be nice, but this hybrid is impossible

You could make CA20 either stroker or build one there's info on this site. I know its not the same but in the same vicinity.

Honestly, stop talking to this guy. He's going to fool some idiot into thinking he knows what he's talking about someday. Don't be that idiot.

I think you could of misunderstood that guy. You sure he didn't say CA20 block with CA18DET head. Dont know it this hybrid is possible or cheaper than SR20DET. But that would make more sense, as both are CA platform Iron blocks.

This would yield a CA20DET in theory. GL

I think you should stop attending those shows. Or hang out with a crowd, that possess some kind of knowledge, not fan boyz. $hit I hate going to meets, that have people from wide spectrum. They will bulls*** you, just so you listen and they try to fit in. I gotz not problem with hanging out with Nissan/Infinity people, or someone that respect others and know their $hit. I try to keep my trap shut, unless I know what I'm talking about.

If you meet up with them, tell them you got a ISB Cummins engine from dodge pick-up. And you have to notch you firewall to fit it. Than it's going to be crazy six powa.
