Im looking at running a HKS gt3040 with a .86 hotside turbo... Can anyone give me any info on how this would go and how this turbo would compare in maxpower/spooltime to a garrett gt3540 with a .63...

thanks guys much appreciated.

I drove SR's with .63 vs 86. AR's on 2871's.

I would suggest the turbo with the smaller AR.

those cams however might be able to take advantage of a larger AR?

So I take it you're running the center entrance T4 turbine housing? Have you checked clearance on that yet? The T4 compressor housing that comes with the manifold stock is kinda close with the side inlet. I would be concerned about it being too close to the mani with the center inlet.

Also, why didn't you choose a turbo with a divided T4 inlet? I know that bumps you up to a much bigger turbo, but it looks to me like you've got the setup for it.

to be honest when it comes to the turbo side of things I know SFA.... Im wanting to keep this semi streetable hence when i went for the .58, I also went for the t4 flange as it is the same flange as my manifold, So worse comes to worse i cant make a spacer up and theryll be a hole in the dmax bonnet with a snail head poking out.

If you're looking for a streetable setup, I think you made a good pick. Can't wait for vid's and and dynocharts.

What are you using for engine management.

thanks Float, I am going to be running a Link G3 Plus, Made here In New Zealand - I think at the end of the day the only real trouble I am going to have is the gearbox will not last that long!

I will post up a album thread in the next few months!

The custom fuel rail, are you using dash 6 or dash 8 lines?

Did you change the fuel lines from the tank to motor?

Are you using a surge tank dual external pump setup for your fuel requirement?

I am interested in your build up, seems a good match of parts..

The .58 housing should spool up nicely...

Sounds about right with the time unless you are a rich kid. Your components list is pretty heft and the GT35R should be a treat as I own both a GT35R (daily sentra) and T04R (Drag Sentra). I can honestly say the GT35R on a stock CA had me grinning like a little boy that saw his first set of real breasts . You have the components, but tuning is key. Even have a Greddy T-78 on an engine that has nearly the same components as you except for the camshafts. Can't wait to see how this stuff makes your engine react.

-8 dash lines will be made, With a surge Tank and + denso 700hp internal fuel pump feeding the surge tank and an external of some sort to feed through to the fuel rail.

Fuel lines from the tank to the engine bay will be replaced eventually with teflon coated braided lines.

Sweet as, I have a walbro pickup feeding a 2L surge with dual bosch 044 externals running into dual 3/8 aluminium lines for feed and return...

I use dash 6 braid to my fuel rail though split to dash4 to the wet fogger...

I was only going to use a dual in tank setup, however after some advice and logical thinking the surge tank setup was the go...

cheers

Also running a HKS Racegate 50mm - ( also have another one of these for sale )

hmmmm...... Really should get 4 tomei test shims 2.3mm thick... someone must have some kicking around lol

ahhhh also sold my origional cams and found some... wait for it.... 312 deg in and ex with a 10.35.... CRAZY N/A CAMS!! lol...... Dodgy little garage in japan helped me out with this! lol

Um, that's ghey. Hindsight is 20/20, but why didn't you just order 16 of the thickest shims they made and carefully sand them down to the correct thickness?
