I have a 1991 Ca18det motor that won't rev any higher than 2100 rpm. It sounds like the limiter is kicking in. The timing is fine and i checked all of m ywiring and I am not throwing any codes, does anyone know whats up

usually when you can't rev past i think its about 2200, that usually means your mafs is bad. Check/test your mafs.

usually means your air flow meter (AFM) is bad. right after your airbox. may want to find someone with one and swap with them to see if that fixes the problem.

Totally agree with the MAF being your issue. If yours is bad, you can use a KA24E one, but you will have to reflash your EPROM to get the best results. I am in the process of installing my new EPROM for this very purpose.

^^^something i REALLY need to do. let me know please, how much difference it makes. i dont want to go through all that for basically no change, it would be nice to have a rev limiter though, id feel a lot safer.

when your engine cuts out a 2000-2200 it means your ecu is running your engine in safe mode which is nice..mine did it because when i did my swap i was ignorant and put the ca18 sensor in the KA24e housing because it was bigger and i didnt want to do anymore wiring dammit. but thats what did it. good luck. i know. its a *****

welcome to the wonderful issue of the maf . you better hope its just the maf and not your ecu due to bad wiring ..(me talking of experience) its a good teacher . but check your wiring.

Hey guys thanks for the help. It was my MAF. one of my prongs were messed up. I have the euro spec 200sx S13. I just found a 240sx though and am looking into doing the ca swap I am just trying to find out how to swap it over. Has anyone here done it and is it too much of a pain?
