Hey I have a couple questions about the ca. I got a ca recently and since it was torn down to the block and head it didnt have the power steering pump bracket or the alternator bracket or alternator.

1) does the kade or kae power steering pump and bracket fit?
2) does either ka alternator brackets bolt up to the ca?
3) does the quest or maxima alternator line up correctly with the other pulleys?

I was curious cause I have a spare part kade and kae so thats why Im asking, and I tried searching but I got both answers so Im looking for real clarification. And I know the maxima and quest alternator need mods done to the brackets.
Thanks, Josh.

IDK about which bracket will work. I'd try and find a CA18DET one to replace it. As for the alternator, IIRC, I used a KAE and it was PnP.

also I was wondering how I would go about a tune for my ca since i have a tune from someone thats got negative reviews even from a friend that ran the same thing from the same tuner and it didnt work for him. So I was wondering on how to go about tuning. Do I get nistune or do I make my own chip to tune or is there a plug and play kinda tune for the ca?

AFAIK, you're gonna have to try and come up with a RWD CA18DE(T) alternator bracket and P/S pump bracket. Nothing else, THAT I KNOW OF, will work. If you find something else that works, be sure to let us know.

IDK, if it's easeir to tune, it's just more commonly tuned, so tuners are more familiar with it. It's a fair amount of work to get it going (build an adapter harness, or re-pin the stock harness, and then tune the ECU to run the CA18) and unless your tuner is familiar with SR20 ECU tuning, the gain in computing power doesn't gain you much by itself.

ohh well that does make sense, now that i think about it. seems like way more work than trying to tune the ca haha. i appreciate the help though guys.
