Hey iv Nearly come to the end of my new engine build for my datsun 510, I'm just wondering what I should do with the factory knock sensor as it got broken off (wire snapped at the sensor end) . Iv heard there pretty useless on a medium/heavily modified ca so my question is can I remove it completely? Any downsides to doing so? Do I need to solder on a resistor or anything? Or just cut it off up near the ecu? Thanks. Oh and ca18de CAS are the same as ca18det CAS right? Thanks guys, awesome forum you have here :)

If you're confident in the tune and the octane of fuel that you're using, then just wire a resistor in place. If not, then I'd get it replaced.
