I just put in a CA18DEt motor and everything starts and idles fine, but when i rev i cannot exeed 2100 rpm. It sounds as if the rev liimiter is kicking in. Any info is gladly welcomed.

Sounds like a maf issue to me. I'd say first check your ecu for any codes, then see if your maf plug is messed up. When you extended the maf wiring did you use shielded wire?

I didn't have to extend the maf wiring as this car came with the ca18det motor. I just got another motor due to a blown engine. even if i am not thrownig any lights, would the ecu still throw a code. If so how do i check it

Check the cam belt. Make sure its correctly installed. Sounds like one of the cams might be a tooth or two off..

I checked everywire under that engine and i still don't get ti. All my wires and the harness were drom my other eengine and i had no problems with it except the spun beaing. So i think it is something on the engine. Off my other engine i kept everything, the harness,ECU, airbox...you name it, so it has to be something on the engine huh?

What was wrong with your belt? Did you get a new belt or just remove and replace the other one. How many teeth off was it?

Well I put a new belt on and inturn got the cam timing back inline. It was 2 teeth off. When I put the belt on it was ONE off thats how I knew it was the belt. Went back and set it right and BINGO.. INSTANT boost and power..

The belt is a new one and isn't missing any teeth. When i was putting the head on this motor i did spin one of the cams over witha wrench on accident while cleaning the valves. I made sure that all timing marks on the belt and pulley were aligned prior to installation, would me spinning over the cam be the problem too. I think i will check the belt and retime it anyway. All I know is that this crap is irritating. Thanks for your help guys
