I needed the flange of an oilcooler and decided to share the photos if someone should be interested in looking at them.

Im going to use it to pressure test the oil gallery.
I didn't want to make the flange so I did it this way.

Talk about meticulous. Are you testing the CD20?

No its an engine which doesn't get oil to the head and the owner need a device.
The head gasket was on correctly also.
I told him to run the starter with the head off but he's unable to do so.

There is a check valve in the block that feeds oil to the head. I'll bet that check valve is plugged. I had an oil filter fail and plugged this up on my engine. The valve is not available from Nissan. I ruined it trying to remove it. I had to have a machinist build me another from scratch.

Sorry to threadjack, but it's somewhat relevant. Where could to tap the head for and oil pressure gauge? Or is there a good place? I figure knowing you have oil pressure in the head is just as important as knowing you have it in the bottom end.

The best place for an oil pressure gauge is either in with the oil pressure switch for the gauge. Any other pressure point in the system is after the oil filter and will read low.

Did you make the one way valve part also or just an simple restrictor?
I think I will swap to another block and maybe throw this one in the acid bath.

I was thinking of running two gauges. One in the usual place in the back of the block, and a second one in the head so I know I'm getting oil there. It isn't really necessary, but it'd be a nice peace of mind for stuff like this.

I was able to salvage the internals of the valve (it's a ball bearing and a "cage" that allows the ball bearing to move away from the seat, but doesn't let it move so far away that oil won't go past it) so I kept the one-way actuation of the valve. I took some pictures of it, LMK if you want to see them.

There isn't really a place to tap into the head that I'm aware of. You can tap post oil filter and that's about it.

I decided to remove the one way valve and make a new orifice.
I also wonder why i didn`t made the pressure test device out of something that would fit the pressure sensor hole..

LMK how that works for you. I thought about doing that instead, but I figured there was a reason Nissan went to the trouble of putting that valve in there.
