Car starts, but still won't rev over 2k rpm. I have narrowed it down cylinder #1 not firing.

Anyone else know what could be causing this.

I have had my injectors professionally cleaned and verified working. Installed new spark plugs on all four, swapped around coil packs, and tried three different injector resistors. All terminals to the coil packs and injectors have proper voltage, and ohms. It all leads back to cylinder #1, I can unplug either the injector or the coil pack and it will continue running the same way. I also have a stainless steal header on which all runners have darkened except the runner to cylinder #1, which is still shinny.

The casing on the back of my igniter is damaged, so I recently purchased a replacement, that will be here next week.

I'm also thinking about replacing the ECU, but before I do that does anyone have any experience with this setback? Any help is greatly appreciated!

cams not broken lol. check and see if the lil piece on the ex. cam that goes into the CAS isnt broken cuz ur timing will...well, u know. if u could check the valves too if u pull it apart. im just spitballing ya know? pull the injectors out and see if the port in the intake manifold where the injector sets into isnt clogged? i really dont know

Worked on the issue today. Sure enough, no spark coming from the plug. The coil pack is functional, getting a well over 12v of juice, but it doesn't seem to be receiving the fire signal. I'm suspecting igniter, ECU, or even a possible wire break within the harness.

Well see how it goes. Igniter is on the way, and I'll look through the harness today.

Running on 3 when everything else is ok, means propably a faulty ingiter (power transistor). It is quite common. Also if it runs ok until it reaches 2K and then runs on 3 or "splatters"/misfires, then it might be a faulty AFM, quite common too.

Check your wiring back to the ECU, I bet a wire is cut/bad. Even if the coil pack has 12v, it gets the negative side from the ECU; this is how it sends the spark signal. Oh yeh, and swap the MAF for a known good one if the wiring pans out.

I am having the same problems, only now my car wont start. For the not wanting to rev over 2500, check the maf and wiring to it. I checked my compression(on a cold motor) and got 100 on last 3 and 40 on the first. doubt thats your case though.
