Okay guys,

For those of you who have put your hard-earned money up front in the name of performance, I'm happy to tell you that your headgaskets are in my posession and will definitely be in the mail tomorrow ( I promise). The weather here is miserable as of late and it's pretty hard to get things totally accomplished, but thanks for your patience. Money well spent and you guys will not be disappointed. Any questions, you guys know how to find me.

So is it an ongoing thing for you to be able to get these, or was it a one time thing?

ditto, I'm still trying to find a HG for my car. I think I'm going to have to have a custom one made though. Damn the pistons....

The guy that brings these in deals only with big $$$$$$$s Lexus/Toyota ballers. He'll do this for me as long as the cash is on tap. So put up the cash and a gasket is as good as yours.

going with overbore pistons do I need to worry about opening up the gasket? IIRC the pistons don't stick out into the head but merely go flush (or close to) the deck, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem beyond any problem you'd already have w/ the head not being as wide as the pistons therefore having a right angle at the gasket/head that sticks into the now-overbore cylinder (since the piston space is wider than the head space)... (bad description )

That's interesting, I never thought about that.

Basically what you're saying is:

You have overbore pistons, and are possibly worried about them knocking into the gasket because the stock bore is smaller, meaning the four holes in the gasket are too small in diameter to accomodate the pistons stroke?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is that what you're saying?

nah most headgaskets have a little room for boring cylinders

Yeah thats what I'm saying, but I'm not too worried since in theory the pistons don't stick up past the deck anyways IIRC so it shouldn't matter, anymore than the cylinders being wider than the chambers in the head already would..

This is true as long as you are using stock compression. If the compression is increased at all, then you have a chance of the piston smacking the gasket.

Technically my compression should be around 8.7:1, but thats cause they're wider, they're still flattops..

Well, with a 1.2mm headgasket compared to a 1.0mm, you'll lower the 8.7 back down to 8.5, most likely.
