hi there again,

after following your advice on the pistons, i did order them now...

but in all the stress and hetic, i forgot to get myself a metal head gasket... i want to go for a 1.6mm to lower the compression a bit, so that i can boost at higher levels...

my question is, where i can get this head gasket - at a reasonable price (not TOMEI) ... i wanted to place an order with takakahira.co.jp , but they will get the metal head gasket on march 11th and that is way toooo long of a wait... i need it as fast as possible..

anyone got advice on a reliable retailer?

thx!

nick

good luck finding one from outside of japan. Greddy also makes a gasket that is $239 shipped from SPL, but the wait on that is going to be just as long as the tomei probably (which is $280 shipped btw)

Prices of headgaskets is OUTRAGEOUS. Once I bought a '81 corolla gasket and it was 13.99. $280 WTF?

the prices for "just" a gasket are really insane... the more research i do, the more rediculious it gets... did u know that the cams cost slightly more than this stupid gasket... unbelieveable...

i guess that the people who manufacture these parts think to have established a monopoly, because MHG seem like a weak stop in the market... well, i did get one from takakahira.co.jp for 209 USD... crazy prices, but unfortunatly its necessary...

Couldn't have said it better myself! Just wait to see how much an engine set cost by the summer. My prediction was already correct about the cost of one today. These engines are becoming a rare commodity and people who can get parts for us know this, even my connections. I can get the NISMO 1.2mm units for $250, but my friend says it may not be that price around summer time.

iv been considering ordering up a long block along with my motor set, if its not to expensive, figure it wouldent be a bad idea to have an extra laying around, since they are getting more and more uncommon and ppl buy um up
