hey guys. im running an s13 ca18 det, was running sweet with t3 turbo (factary rb20det) gtr fuel pump, intercooler, 2 an 1/2 exaust, stock injectors an ecu made 235 rwhp at 12psi, however wanted more and got hold of some 440cc injectors out of gti-r pulsar. i thougt the injectors are the same impedance so cant under stand why it sounds like it is now detonating, even after i droped the boost and retarded the timing. maybe some one knows where i went wrong? maybe i need resistors for the injectors?i have a chipped ecu witch will run as soon as soon as i can get hold of a z32 afm. just thought could still run as it is. was hoping to get it back down the 1/4 mile this weekend an beat my 14.4 @100mph witch i dont think will be to hard..

any help cheers

Did you get the injectors cleaned and flow tested? Because i doubt very much that 20 year old injector are actually putting out what they are supposed to.

you are using a chip that requires a Z32 maf and not using a Z32 maf?

that is your issue....

They are probably not 440cc injectors then. Post a pic. They're probably 259cc injectors off an sr20de pulsar motor.

wasnt running the chiped computer, still standard one. they are yellow injectors same as r32 gtr. i thougt the 370cc injectors run at low impedance same as gtr. but i was wrong .5ohm resisters and car is now running well and loving 14 psi cheers guys. hopefully back to the track tomorrow.

std ca18det 370s are low impedance. Why else would there be resistor box ?Aren't those yellow r34 440s a popular ca18 upgrade ?How r u seeing 14psi on std afm/ecu ?

He must have been using high impedance 370's with no resistor box, then he switched to 444cc low impedance skyline injectors with no resistor...worked like crap.....so he added a .5 ohm resistor and they work like they should. That's all I can make out.
