Ok, so I am going through and re-doing the wiring harness for the ca... Along the way I discovered that the knock sensor was never hooked up( was cut inside the harness). The knock sensor I had is damaged, the wiring harness connector is trashed - and both parts are horribly priced. Solutions? I would prefer to run a knock sensor, for detonation safety reasons - even though the car was running ok without it and had no detonation (granted it was rich before, and on only 12lbs - going to be 18lbs, and cleaner tune on fresh build).

So, here is the question - Should I run without a knock sensor(using resistor to simulate one), or with a knock sensor?

Further - Has anyone experimented using a cheaper, more readily available knock sensor? such as the common style used on sr's, ka's, etc? My plan was to use an sr20de knock sensor I have here and see what happens - but I would feel a lot more comfortable if someone else has done something regarding it before. Open to suggestions...
