Hi guys. I've recently bought a damaged 180sx which i'm rebuilding with a 240sx.

I bought a CA18det, but a lot of parts are missing off it, and even thus I searched for compatibility between certain parts, some of them I can't find when searching.

I'm missing a turbo, an injector, a coil pack, the engine mounts, the transmission mount, the driveshaft (it's broken in 2 it seems), the maf, the clutch, clutch bolts and transmission bolts, the exhaust line, the harness and well, that's about it lol.

I know the ka24e maf can be fitted, I know I can also use gtr injectors, I THINK i can use the clutch (i know pressure plate won't fit, but I think clutch will). That's what I found searching.

But will the rest of the parts work on both engines? I know the ca18 is COP ignition and the ka24e is distributor ignition, but can I reuse the coil pack for a COP ignition (Im missing just one, that's why I need to know). I'd also want to know if the harness can be modified to work, if the driveshaft is the same length, and if the engine and transmission mounts can be reused. The bolts are the main thing I can't find info on thus. And I don't wanna take everything apart to find out it doesn't work, cause the parts car isn't by my place, it's at the garage, so I can't really work on it.

I'm sorry if I missed anything while searching, but I DID look, lol.By the way, if anybody's got all those parts and want to give me a good price, i'd appreciate it. I need those things bad, but i'm very, very short on money at the moment heh.

Thnaks a lot for your help !

good to see that link posted. my suggestion. you have a 240sx with a ka24e correct? i would suggest buying a ca18 motorset with everything you need. including your power steering accessories. with that long block you have, you have A LOT more parts to get.. keep it. as a spare. get a full swap. a stock swap. get used to the motor and maintenence. saving money and rebuilding the long block as a fresh spare. i sure wish i had a spare. good luck.

Hey there, thanks for the reply.

I had been trough this page before, but it only answers my question partly. The driveshaft, bolts, clutch and mounts aren't mentionned or aren't clear.

For example, I don't think I have nismo mounts on my ka24e, but then again, nismo engine mounts for what model do I need? because I'm trying to buy as less stuff as possible, you see, so if they're nismo engine mounts for a ka24e, then i can reuse my stock ones, but if not, then I need new ones.

Same for the bolts, they aren't covered. And only clutch cylinder is covered, not clutch plate.

But thanks for the reply, I expected to be forwarded to threads like this one. Thanks for not flaming me too.

Yeah, it'd seem like a good idea, but the problem is the car is already in for the job to be done to it.

And yes, I do have a 240sx single cam.

As for the accessories, I have everything with the engine already. Alternator, starter, power steering pump and even a/c compressor.

I don't miss all that many things, but I miss critical things, which is why i'm trying to scavenge as much as I can. And I can't turn around and cancel the swap at this point. I'm kinda stuck :-(.

Thanks for the help guys, I know how it can piss people off when new members on a board can ask questions that were already answered. I appreciate that you don't diss me for the noobish questions I ask. I'm in such a tight deadline, I need a magical solution lol.

Anyways.

As for the mounts and clutch taken from:zerothread/218448

2.Clutch and Engine and Transmission mounts.-You will want to install these as well as mods 3 and 4 before actually installing the motor in the car. It is much easier to do them now, than later. For the clutch you've got a few options. The only CA18DET specific clutch in the USA is from SPEC. BUT the CA18ET clutch from an S12 will work w/o modification. ZOOM makes them in 4 stages for the CA18ET and you can get them from Advance Auto and Summit. You can also use any KA clutch that you would like by simply removing the alignment pins from the flywheel. -Remember to use CA specific motor mounts so that the motor will sit properly in the engine bay. The regular S13 transmission mount will work fine. Here are the NISMO part numbers;11210-RS520 (Right Hand Mount)11220-RS520 (Left Hand Mount)11320-RS541 (Transmission Mount)

And stock drive shaft can be used

I have a KA24DE centerforce stage 1 clutch with 90% life left on it. Im asking 160$ shipped but since we're both in MTL I can make you a deal. I also have a KA24DE throttle body in Excellent condition that I could let go of as well. As for your questions, the KA driveshaft will work, I believe the only compatability importance is ABS/no ABS. The KA engine and transmission mounts can be used but I believe they make the engine sit crooked a bit. transmission mount can be shared. If you need any help hit me up at [email protected] and ill try my best.

P.S. Where you at exactly? Im on the South Shore in Chateauguay.

Yep, the KA driveshaft works perfectly. The only thing you need to do is swap the dust shield from the KA transmission onto the CA transmission. The CA one is too big for the KA shaft and hits one of the knuckles.

Wow, thnaks so much for the help guys ! I sooooo hate to be the newbie, but the S chassis is new to me so I'm not familiar with it yet....

I'm in Laval, on the Green Isle to be more precise. Not exactly by your house, but still closer than the states if I need something lol.
