Well, after getting the HICAS steering pump on the engine, I thought everything was going great. The pulley from the KA24DE's HICAS pump looks to be a direct fit. So the other day I go to yank it off the pump.... and it doesn't come off. I go get a pulley puller, and still, it doesn't come. Putting the thing in a vice and wrenching on it STILL doesn't get it. I bite the bullet and go take it to a mechanic. "Sure thing, we'll get that off for you." Three hours later he calls me and says that the thing is not budging. Well crap. Now I have no pulley.
Is there some trick to removing this stupid thing that I'm missing, or is it just siezed up? I was considering hooking the pulley remover up, tying a rope to that, and then tying that rope to the frame of another car and just gunning it, but I'm really not sure if that'd work.
Also, I'm not wasting my time here, right? The pulley from a KA24DE HICAS pump is the same as a CA18DET HICAS pump? It looks the same, as the one I saved from a 2WD CA PS pump won't fit, and the mounting bracket looks like it has a little chunk cut out of it for the pulley design of the KA to clear.
Failing that... anyone got a CA18DET HICAS pulley they could part with?
