Post

I wanted to post up some things about my build and how much fun it turned out to be.

I started with a 1987 toyota corolla and put a ca18det in it :) justification =
-cheap got a blown complete swap with new oil/water pumps for $400
-light weight
-small in size
-square design
-rev happy :)

I sent it off for a rebuild got some tomei 83.5 pistons. Everything else is stock internally.

Mods
-gtr injectors
-butterflys removed
-ka24de tb
-blow through z32 afm
-nistune ecu
-s15 turbo
-custom ss vband exhaust 2.5
-custom manifold

It runs(starts up the 1st time cranking) and drives like a dream, this build was all about response and not massive hp numbers.

Pointers
-plan your build lol
-ground your motor /battery (I ran two grounds off the.battery and it increased the volts)
-research the forums (so much info out there)
-simplify the coolant lines

Enjoy

I want to lure your car into my basement and do "things" to it. Very well executed.

that's so dope. i normally don't like the Levin front, but with that lip and D-max style hood, i'm diggin it.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and ask for videos. action videos.

About 900 more miles of break in then I will be getting it retuned for 15lbs of boost. It's already stupid fast at 10lbs.

As soon as all that is complete it will be seeing track days and drift events. I will post videos :)

Awesome ... well done sir.

When I get bored of my Pulsar project I'm going to try and find an S12 200SX and throw a CA18DET into it. That's the plan for now, but I change my mind all the time.

I was lucky enough to be stationed in mainland Japan for 5 years (iwakuni) starting drifting in a 180sx redtop sr. Then got into a fd3s http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=w ... I6QqH_vB7A

My local track there kicked a**! And was opened year round.

I'm envious; I'm planning to go to stay in Japan for a year after college, but I know very little Japanese. I'd kill to get my hands on a 180sx over there and hit up Ebisu for Drift Matsuri or Maze Circuit.

I am saving this page because my Euro Spec AE86 Levin has been sitting for a couple of years now with a CA sitting in it. All it needs is wiring at this point, but no time has kept it from getting finished.

Nice Job on the car, definitely something to keep looking at to get me motivated.

S12's aren't that hard to find (says the guy with with 3 of them lol) I find them all the time in various conditions.
