Hi guys. And yes i did search.

Ive always liked the 510 and now one is available close by and im wondering how much work it would be to swap a CA into one of these, and if anyone on here has one. And could offer up some advice.

During my search i saw a ton of people say swapping a KA into the 510 would be easier. But ive already got a CA i was originally gonna sell, it, but this opportunity looks like it could be fun, especially since summer has arrived.

from what I have heard they are pretty straight forward. wiring a CA inplace of a KA isnt rocket science..... so a CA in should be the same.

Ive heard of plenty of people running SRs in 510s too.

btw 510s=sex

It wouldn't be any harder than a KA or SR. It would also make for a crazy fast car that would be a blast to drive.

Well, im sure someone in the CA forum, has already done this swap, ill keep checking back in hopes of seeing another CA510

This is my first 510, so the whole thing is an adventure. But out of respect for the car i dont want to screw it up.

Im going to research KA installs and from that i will begin my work. ill be sure to post the completed project as soon as its done.Im very shy when it comes to incomplete projects. Thus no stock pictures nor naked engine pics

One thing I love about 510's, you can swap in damn near any motor under the sun without too much difficulty. So many swaps have been done in these, it shouldn't take too much to find all the information you need. Good luck and I can't wait to see it!

The 510..and many of the Datsuns are easy to transplant into because the owners are into doing it themselves. The Datsun platform allows many interchangeable suspension and driveline parts from different models, including the s13. I'm one of the 1200 + ca18det ol' boys.

There is only about 5 wires that need to be interfaced between a ca18 loom and a datsun loom. The engine pretty much runs off it's own loom.

I have a ca in my 510 and its no different than swapping a KA in the car

crossmember has to be reversed and trans crossmember needs modifyingabout 6 wires total to power the ecuNEED a topmount manifold and custom downpipe as the stock bottom mount setup will hit the steering gearboxdrops right onto the stock 510 rubber motor mounttransmission tunnel hole has to be cut open roughly 5 inches more towards the back of the carand a shortened driveshaft

Thanks a ton, ill be sure to bother you if i get into an trouble.Having to top mount sets me back quite a bit, i though i could just drop my CA in and forget, oh well.Where did you get your top mount, and is it for the stock T25 or did you end up getting a bigger turbo?

Ps. Your 510 looks godly. If i can get mine to look 50% that awesome ill be happy.

A little off topic, but where do people keep finding the white lettered Falken Azenis tires? Ive been buying them for years, but I have yet to find the ones with white lettering!

510 looks like sex by the way.

I believe you just paint it your self. Could probably use one of those whiteout pen things.
