I came across someone who bought a CA18DET from an engine importer. Now, this engine was apparently used in the 89' Blackbird SSS which was a 4WD setup (for this engine). It only includes some bare basics: Engine block, head, alternator, power steering pump, and some misc bits.

I'm specifically after taking a CA18DET and building it up from ground zero so the fact it doesn't include the exhaust manifold, intake manif, etc doesn't bother me. I'll still need to pickup a CA18 transmission, but oh well.

The thing that I need your wisdom on is this:

Will it mount properly in a 240SX? Will a RWD CA18DET transmission mount to this thing fine? Are there any head differences between this and a CA18DET setup for a RWD car?

I used a awd ca in my 240, more work than you think, stupid things though. For the left side engine bracket only the middle bolt hole is there, so 1 out of the 3. I Drilled and tapped the other 2. The markings are there for the holes. The oil return is in the wrong place so a rwd one is needed. Coolant port for lower rad hose is too long. The is a lot more stupid lil things like I said but it's do able. I used another RWD motor set to pull it off though.
