I just swapped a CA18DET into my car. I'm using a ca18de computer with NIstune and the image map for CA18DET loaded onto it's chip. I am also using a Z32 MAF everything else is stock.

I started it for the first time last nite and it idles very erratically. It's like someone is giving it gas then letting off over and over. When I touch the gas pedal it doesn't effect the idle either just continues reving and letting off on it's own over and over.

ECU is tuned for the different MAF?

check for leaks everywhere, make sure the various idle control bits work? try disconnecting all the idle control bits, see if it changes ?

I bet it's the z32 maf that you're using and the chip on the ecu isn't tuned right for it. If not, it could also be the ICV since that little screw kept stickin on mine...

If you didn't adjust for the Z32 MAFS that can cause your problems.

Okay found out a problem. My ECU had the image for a ca18de loaded into it, NOT one for the ca18det...

This is now fixed, however the car does not start nor does it even hit...curious to whether the plugs are fowled out now.

I removed the Z32 and replaced with the stock ca18det maf until I get this running.

you're using a ca18de (fwd or rwd?) or ca18det eCU?

I'm using a pulsar ecu with Nistune and fuel/knock/timing maps all set to the same as a ca18det
