I'm looking at upgrading my engine to a CA18DET. If I do get one, I'd like to have some work done on it. As such, I talked to someone who does engine machining and they said that the biggest limitation is the head. Specifically that the head design on the KA/CA/SR is pretty much the same. Talking with someone else, they didn't buy it.

So I've come to you guys. As far as research goes, I haven't found much for an answer. Does the CA18 head use rocker-arms?

no rocker arms. KA/CA are similar.... SR is totally different.

The dohc ka and ca are similar like c-rad said... The sr and SOHC ka are similar. Also a major difference between the ca,ka, and sr is that sr's and ka's use timing chains and the CA uses a belt.
