Wiring Specialties is in need of a core harness to get me running again. If anyone has one laying around, LMK.

Nope. They said the pre-made harness wouldn't be ready for another 10 weeks, and I'm renting a car from a family member now that I can't rent that much longer and I need to have my car on the road and everything by the end of April. I may have found one and Yuri is supposed to contact them, but I want as many back up options as I can have....

Yuri and I found a place that had a harness and its on its way to Wiring Specialties right now. He is going to fix it up and send it over to me to get me running. No need for a harness now and I'll be up and running by May 1st!

You have given up your stock harness to help the gang out in the area of freshly done plug and play harnesses, but what happened whereas they need another harness? I mean, members were excited about this service, the hype was brought to the forum and then "poof". And this thread only resurfaces when you give an update as it was your harness that was being mutilated for the sake of CA community. So inform the community on this ongoing project that's been looming since October of 2010 as inquiring minds want to know ;) .

heres the scoop...
they have been looking for a factory to make a batch of harness, but it took them a long time to find a place that was willing to do it with a quantity low enough to keep costs down. As it is now, they have a factory to do it, but the minimum quantity is 200 units, which they are pleased with. The only problem is the pre-made harnesses wont be ready for another 10 weeks or so.

Where I come into play..
I gave them my harness in the hopes of having a new pre-made harness by now, but their development and sourcing a place to assemble the harnesses took longer than expected and I couldn't have my car down for another 10 weeks, so we sourced another harness that they will clean up and then send to me to get me running by the end up April.

The CA harness, from what I know, is still in the process of being produced but is still going to be made.. I think everyone who is interested should post on their thread or email them to reassure Wiring Specialties that the interest for the harnesses is still out there and that making them wont be a waste of time and money.

Unfortunately, the interest will never be that great. Hell, there's not even 200 CA18DET owners in the U.S. as we speak. It might be best just to get it wired-up and worry about getting your stuff on the road. We've been down this road of group buys for this community and this bunch is not largest nor are pockets too deep, feel me?

oh yea I feel ya. they are sending me a wiring harness they got from japanese star motor in Albany, NY (where i bought my swap from). They are going to clean it up and send it to me. I will have it by the end of April for sure so I'm pretty excited. As to whether they will make the pre-made CA harness, this is beyond me.
