I was thinking that alot of people have but SR20DETs in Classic SE-Rs, but what about a CA18DET?, I know that they made CA18DEs here, if I can find one, can I use the transaxle & other parts, just swap the longblock & manifolds?

Thx

also if any body know what years/trims the NA CAs came in, that will help alot.

i have a ca18det in my kn13 pulsar nx sea few other guys do too

then there is Boost boy with one in his b12 sentra

the ca18de came in the 88-89 nissan pulsar nx sethis is where most of ur parts will come from

transmission, axels, mounts, shifter, linkages, not sure if the sentra is cable or hydraulic clutch, but the pulsar is hydraulic.

the wiring harness from a 87 pulsar nx se(ca16de) can be fitted to the det and then a ca16 ecu can be reprogrammed by JWT to run the det, or you can go with a stand alone system which i recommend.

i am currently running about 250hp at the crank with stock turbo and internals, with an upgraded turbo and fuel system 300 whp is easy on stock internals.

The B13 share a few similarities with the B12, but engine mounting configuration is different. The Kn13 pulsar and the B12 sentra share the same chasis, so parts are very interchangeable between the two. And as for the B13's there will be a bit of modification to the chasis and mounts to accomodate this engine. Can be done, but needs to planned out. I have a few people around here wanting to try it, but no one is putting $$$s in my face, so I only see window shoppers. The B13's drivers corner is very tight and it will be some work to get the hydraulic clutch master cylinder in there. Or you can use the CA16DE's transmission which is cable operated, but it will eventually blow-up.

Thanks for all the info.

I like the high revs & high boost capabilities of the CA, but I need a 4DR (3yr old kid 'n all), I'm just trying to figure out what I want to do. It looks like this would be very difficult & pricey.

Use the B12! The CA bolts right up minus the wiring work. I use 4 drs as well because I have 3 kids and they walk and talk and tell me what to do. Cheaper to keep her if you know what I mean;) .

just get a fwd CA18DET (cheaper and easier to find IMO)... but I suppose you could put a rwd CA18DET in with FWD intake manifold and oil pan... Dee, anything else required for a fwd -> rwd switch?

my main concern would be wiring, since i hate wiring. the exhuast and crap is no big deal

Needs to take all brackets off a the FWD and place them on the RWD block. I have a FWD turbo manifold if needed. Like Sean says, cheaper to find a FWD CA18DET and go from there. Not too many of them, but at least they are cheap. And I do have a JWT ECU with Z32 AFM for the 1988-90 pulsar SE. I just sold one friday and I'm down to the last one.

I don't think it would be the sh!ts and giggles you're thinking of. The FWD pulsar is better suited for a CA18DET swap than your 240 and I'm sure it will go much faster as well. Wiring? There's no wiring with the pulsar, only rearranging wires is more like it. If I had the choice, I would do a pulsar before I did a sentra, but I don't care for the pop-up lights at all.

hey Dee... a friend of mine wants to do a fwd pulsar with a CA18DET... how much do you want for that JWT computer, and what is it tuned for? email me a price if you don't want to discuss it on the boards:)

well im putting the ca into my 510, not my 240(thats getting an rb next year) so it cant be any harder then that, what wires have to be moved, and like i said, the car is a running driving ca car, and i already have the rwd cadet, so it cant get any cheaper then that.

oh, i dont like the plusar either, but its 100 dollars of fun.

besides, i need the fwd, cause unlike you lucky *** floridians, we get snow in new york, and 240's dont like snow.

Just have to change the fuel injector connectors and reposition the idle control wires and it's show time.

But don't be surprised of how the ball game changes with over 300FWD HP! That's where big turbos come in handy at with the lag,

I'm going to have a friend weld up the manifold itself... so i only need the manifold to head flange (also I'm not sure what turbo I plan on using, so that will be figured out later:)) I suppose raw would be fine because I will ceramic coat the manifold anyways...

I'm on AIM now, but that never lasts for long as most already know;) ! If you're going to use the T25 then you may as well use the stock CA18DET FWD/4WD manifold because it's not worth the extra crafting, especially if it's a beater.
