I recently purchased a swapped ca18det. The car cut out on me, the problem is fuel.

The fuel pump relay will make this loud electrical pulsating noise when it is not working. The noise goes away if i pull the relay. I checked the black/pink wire coming off the harness and it is connected well.

When i put a DMM on the relay socket it is getting voltage across two different locations. The relay next to it which is identical is only getting voltage across one. Is this normal?

Anything else i could/should be checking?

Thanks

idk if you got your answer yet, but to get around this, you could always hardwire the fuel pump. run a wire from the battery, to the positive fuel pump wire, then throw a switch in the circuit. OR, search on here or Freshalloy forums (dont remember where it is), and find the S13 Fuel Pump Hardwire.

its because their is a short and the circuit is still being completed some where along the line pre-relay and telling it to stay on.

go find the place where it is shorting out..... and you will have your source.
