I must say, massive boost leak from somewhere. It may be from my ghetto intercooler piping... It would boost up to 11psi then drop all the way down to 9psi... I know what I have to do now to the car. I'm very pleased with the results though.

^ good call.

With those kind of numbers I'm going to guess:

Intake, Exhuast, FMIC, and maybe another minor modification.

That sounds like thats about it to be honest.

I would have done some intake an exhuast work before you bought a bigger turbo and boosted it to 11 pounds lol.....

I have a 3" turbo back exhaust but no intake. I'm working on that now. The ghetto intercooler piping is going to replaced and few other modifications. The boost gauge read up to 11psi then kept dropping down to 9psi. The afr was a little on the lean side on this dynograph so we richened it up a tiny bit. The car's making 183 hp now but much safer for the motor.

Funny story, on the way back from the dyno, the dude that was tuning my car made me stop aburptly on the side of the road and took out some spare vacuum hose from his car. I was like wtf, dude?? why are we stopped on the side of the road? He said that he completely forgot about this one method to keep the wastegate open to 11psi and keep it there. So we ran the vac line from the wastegate to the vacuum manifold that we made on the brake booster line. Wow did that make a difference, the turbo spools up to 11 psi and stays there like someone's holding the needle. He was telling me that it should be around 200/200 now.

THe old setup was vac line directly from turbo to waste gate. Now the nipple on the turbo's been capped off and the nipple on the waste gate's been connected with the vacuum manifold on the brake booster line.

Your probably boosting more than 11 psi now. Since there will be pressure drop by the time the waste gate spring sees the pressure now.

I don't understand why it went to 11psi and then dropped to 9psi. Anyone care to explain to me what's going on there?

Any sort of boost controller, or just the wastegate?

The specialist who was tuning the car told me that there's definitely a leak in the intercooler piping or somewhere.

Just the wastegate. But I believe the chip has been burned in a way that it won't overboost than what he set it up for even if the wastegate was to malfunction

I always tap my wastegate boost reference to the intake, it gives you more accurate control because it eliminates the variable of pressure loss due to the i/c and piping.

Then why does your name say "kaforlife"?? hahaha jkjk

I did the swap myself but I know a really good guy that's very knowledgeable and very affordable to swap. Only problem is (for you) is distance. He's located near stockbridge, which I think it's about 3 hours away??? He's 50/50 on this board and he's written a few articles here and even posted a dyno picture with a healthy 299 hp on a ca18det w/ gt30 turbo. I'll give you his number if you're interested.

He tuned my car w/ s14 sr20de maf, and gt25r turbo, fab'ed the IC piping, and done all the vac lines all for an unbelievable price.

An even better boost refrence is the stock location, or at least on the outlet housing. I bought a 1/8NPT to 1/4" hose nipple at the parts store and drilled and tapped for it. I used to refrence t'ed off of the line that I use for the BOV (Big nipple aft of the throttle body), but with it at the turbo, the response is unreal.

Good numbers. I need to hit the dyno myself. I'm hoping for 220ish with my setup.
