[IMG]Just picked up a 89 240 with a CA18det and wanted to retrieve some codes from the ecu because it was running a little rough and rich. When I got to the ECU it appears to have been opened due to the tape and sticker on top and there is clear tape over the adjustment screw. I just wanted to know if I should go any further in the diagnoses

Thanks

You dont need to open the ECU to check for codes its probably already been chipped.

Have you downloaded a program to view/tune the ROM if extracted? I'm in Charlotte too and have a eprom reader/burner and also Nistune to mess with the ROM. Let me know if you need help. I work like 60-70 hours a week but I could find a day I'm sure.

Plug the ECU in turn the srew clockwise and wait for the three blinks and then turn it back wait and the green and red lights will blink indicating a number and there you have ECU CODES!!!!
