how can i tell if the ecu i have is for the ca18det guy i bought it from says its for the ca but how can i tell for sure

Write part number that you will find on ecu casing.

Part numbers are Nissan part # 23710-xxxxx and / or JECS part # Axx-xxx-xxx as pictured below.
