Ok guys, I'm new here and have a question(or 3). I recently purchased a 1990 240sx HB w/ca18det. When i bought it it needed an ecu so I bought one from a guy in Canada,it also came with the stock MAF, plugged in the ecu and the engine started up :) Now it will not idle past 2000 rpm  with a little research and looking in the engine bay I found that it has a different MAF (Z32),the guy i bought it from says that the maf is good but i heard that I need to reflash this new Ecu for the z32 MAF is this correct? If so, where can I get this done? Or can I just install the stock MAF for now? And if so, what wires go where? the person that did the swap used cat5 cable to bring the MAF wires from the passenger side to the MAF on the drivers side. I bought new cat5 cause he had the wires running over the radiator and cat5 gets brittle from heating and cooling so I planned on replacing and re-routing it anyway.

Please search the CA18 forum for your answers. You can use the stock afm or use one off a 1989-90 240sx with KA24E.

thx for all the help..... I figured it out on my own, I didn't have the plug for the original MAF so I ended up soldering the wires to it, the car runs great now...after it warms up. it is running 10psi of boost, has a full 3" exhaust, and a APEXi AFC-R. It needs a new paint job, and a clutch, it wants to slip a bit on a hard launch, it is pretty quick though. I'll try to get some pics and maybe a vid up so the guys on here who might be interested can have a look.....Also another question while I'm here. It hits the limiter in 4th gear at about 6000 rpm and the speedo needle pegged. do I need to reflash the ecu to get rid of this or is there some other way? Thx in advance for all the helpful answers :)

I believe your tachometer is off and you are using a JDM speed sensor which will definitely have your speedo all over the place. You'll have to get the 240sx speedo sensor to have it work correctly.
