Ok so i just got my ca18det running again i replaced the bearings and had the crank freshly turned and balanced it idles smooth and everything just when it starts to build boost it brakes up or cuts out. Ive looked for boost leaks but cant seem to find anything i ran the ecu code and it is giving me code55 all clear. When i had this thing running before i didn't have this problem. I set the timing and everything on it. Any advice would be appreciated

check boost/vac leaks again, spark plug gap, ignitor/ignition coil grounds.

Ive checked all that there's new plugs in it and there gaped correctly. All the ic pipes seem to be connected strongly with no leaking. Is it possible that it could be a alternator going bad because now all the sudden the electrical power for the car seems really week. The starter is clicks due lack of power or not being recharged and when it does run everything is week like hazards blower motor etc... It seems to idle fine still just when you give it a little gas it dies out completely then when you let go of the pedal it idles fine again. Im starting to believe its something to do with electrical now ill take a peak more a look when i get done working.

Ok im getting closer to the problem im getting lots of blow by oil in the ic pipes cause the plugs to get really fouled out in a short amount of time mabe i need a oil restricter in the oil feed line for the turbo. It is a brand new oil pump also if that makes a difference mabe too much oil pressure now. Any help is appreciated i like to fix problems before bigger ones occur. Please keep in mind that it never did this before it ran fine with lots of power.

Ok here's some pics of whats going on. I have a sr turbo on my ca18 with no shaft play at all for some reason im getting lots and lots of oil in my inter cooler system when i believe its fouling out basically everything. If i let it warm up for like 15 min it seems to run ok still far from ok. I popped my ic pipe of off the throttle body and there was a ton of oil noticed my inter cooler was just dripping with oil about a court or less came out of it. Any ideals whats causing this mabe it is a blown turbo seal all the sudden but this thing never did this before the rebuild. Any ways heres some pics

You can see the puddle in the dirt when i first dumped it upside down

Well heres a pic of the catch can its a baffled all star performance one i have it set up like a tube going from intake and a tube coming off the exhaust side vc. The catch can was also full of oil also. The maf adapter is just a 3" in peace of metal bolted to the maf if thats what ur wondering. About the pcv is there any way to actually test it mabe by pass it.

Bump anyone have any ideals its weird it like pops when its cold but once it warms up for about 10min it runs alot better doesnt cut out or anything pull pretty nice. But if you get on it for to long then you smell oil and it starts acting funny like a sputter again and doesnt really pull hard any more do you think it could be because the pcv is messed up or something is there any way to by pass it or something. Is there a better way to route my catch can to find out. Thanks any help would be appreciated at this point

running good once warm usually is the IAT sensor

have you checked the TPS?

you have an assload of blow by........ what kind of HG are you using? I dont think the SR turbo should need a restrictor....... The PCV seems like a cop out since there is a catch can inline.

Your turbo don't have to have excessive shaft play to have bad seals. Sounds like your engine is a bit worn and perhaps the turbo as well. I'm leaning more towards the turbocharger.

Ok well i got a new turbo to try out but unfourtunatly someone took a hammer to 2 holes for return line so there kind of buggered up. Ill try to retap them tmmarow and install the turbo. Yes ive thought about the tps sensor but i would really like to figure out this blow by problem first. Im hoping its just the turbo the comppresion was like 165 psi accross the board i thought that was pretty good mabe not. Should i try running the catch can differently would that make any difference?
