Oh god full counterwight CA18 cranks will be available in May. I WILL be having one, regardless of cost. Hell, I'll even swim there to pick it up!

holy **** .... THIS will SURELY change my plans.... i'm happy that someone put time into our little lovely CA.

I'm starting to think that those spool rods at a FCKing ebay price is the best bang for the buck. This is non-sence !

Is that $1500 AUS?

I assume one would have to use custom rods/pistons?

From what the crank is made of ?Full Counterweight ? what about the clearance in the block ? need work on the block ?

They would probably make complete kit in the 3000$ range.... that's my feeling.

Keep us updated.

yes $1500 ausyou can use there rods and a 1mm over size piston but i dont know if you need a custom one for the compression height

He better have some short counterweights, an 88mm full counter crank won't spin in the 18 block without serious shaving of the counterweights.

Is there some ''bad'' effect from using shorter counterweights on any engine ?

none that I can think of. If they balance the crank they have done their job. I would expect a certain advantage to it as well of less windage as the rotating assembly should have a tighter area of rotation. Then there is the whole not smacking into the main webbing and bases of the cylinders thing.

hmm.... so... with a fcw Crank @ stock height and a built head, what can the CA rev to now? 11K?

I doubt the head would flow at those speeds, maybe a 4-port. Give it a try at let us know how it works, we will be behind the blast shield dodging shrapnel.

Unless your making power in that 10-11k range, no point in revving that high..

If you have access to the flowbench results for that particualar head on the 4g63, I would like to compare..
