Just got my engine shipped today. The compression test is 165/165/140/165. Basically one of the cylinders has lower compression, and the difference is 15psi or abt 16-17%. How bad is it? Is it in an acceptable range by any chance? Luckily it hasn't been put it in yet. Will be trying to get tiger jap to honor their warranty and replace or preferably refund me. Dont wish to spend anymore money trying to rebuild it if its messed up. What do u guys think?

oops, I meant a difference of 25psi or abt 15%-18%. Is it an acceptable compression range for a dd?

Yea, sounds like it needs a rebuild. From my personal experience the 3rd cyl tends to run lean and detontate, so it's prob got worn rings at the lest, and a cracked ring land at the worst.

If you are dry testing the motor, then there's no telling. It could just be some excess carbon not allowing your valves to seat correctly or there could be cylinder ring wear as previously suggested. I rebuild is always recommended, that compression reading wouldn't prompt me to do anything as of yet. Since you never had the engine running, it's hard to really say.
