I searched but really couldn't find anything I could understand. My question is has anyone ever heard of the cam gears being installed onto the cams the wrong way i.e. the cam gears being a tooth off?
Some history, I went to have my car(CA18DET) dyno tuned with NISTUNE on Saturday and the first run was 131hp with a good engine and T28BB, FMIC, Greddy hard intake & exhaust, tru boost, 3" turbo back exhaust, Myself and the tuner thought this was really low hp for the bolt-ons that I have. After many more dyno pulls the power was about the same, So the tuner started to check on other things and asked if I had a recent timing belt install and I said yes. So he thinks that either the belt is off a tooth or so. My car seems to run good, idle etc with stock ecu etc, although I didn't know until the dyno pull That I was only getting 131hp. Well anyway the tuner upped my boost to 16lbs and he was able to get me 173hp, he said to get the timing straightened out and come back.
I went to the shop that installed my timing belt and they said that all the crank & cam gear marks were lined up and that it must be that the cam gears are installed wrong.?? Anybody have any ideas... The tuner says that I should be able to pull an easy 225hp with my mods.
