The engine is coming along nicely! I don't know about the rest of you, but I think the CA18DET is nissan easiest Hi-powered 4 cylinder to work on (hands down). I've wrenched on SR20 with their 2 oil pan deal, timing chain, keeper and tenioner as well as that of the double timing chained KA24 with it's double oil pan, headbolts under the cams set up and I'll stick with the CA18 anyday under any circumstance whether it be lack of torque or displacement or even it's age. Lets see a timing chained car drive around showing this much
CA18DET build up date!
I'm starting a KA buildup...just bought one today! Yeah...the headbolts under the cams and the timing chain suck though.
the one clip they got at venus had low compression and they wont get another 5 speed for a month and a half. So I'm just saying screw it and going with a turbo KA...I got the motor yesterday and I'm picking up some more stuff monday!-

Me and another friend are building one as we speak! The car is nearly ready and should be up for sale by next weeks end. It's a fully loaded SE model with A/C and HICAS, custom manifold, 60-1 turbo, HKS wastegate (Kind of a combined CA lover/KA lover combo), but it should be nice. Good luck with your project ''Nathan".
