this is just my personal view but i'm sure others will correct me if i'm wrong. Also, as i stated these are my personal views so take everything i say with a grain of salt. first off if you're going to be putting new parts on the motor i would go ahead and tear the thing down and take it to a machine shop to check the crank, bearing, etc. and replace things as necessary and go from there. If you're going to be dropping 10k on the car you should make sure you have a solid base to start from. It will save you a lot of headaches down the road. I forget if there are any major issues fitting the gt28 to the stock manifold or not but i would just do that if possible. Also, maybe grab some 650cc injectors. It's always nice to have a little extra room to wiggle when it comes to fueling. I wouldn't bother spending money on the greddy intake kit unless you can get it for cheap. I also wouldn't bother buying the koyo radiator unless your stock radiator is bitched up. Furthermore, ditch the mechanical fan and get yourself some electric fans. As for the ECU, you should consider having someone flash it or even get that nistune thing and any competant dyno shop will be able to tune it for you. Forgive me if i've missed anything but i'm at work trying to kill some time but also trying not to get caught doing this. Don't worry, i'm not actually getting paid, i'm just helping out (job security thing) but my boss still doesn't like it if i'm doing this at work.

hey, thanks for your input. yes i am going to have the engine checkd out properly first, before i start building. some of the parts i listed are kinda temp.... and it will probly change a few times before finding its place on a permanent list. from what i have read the gt28 should be fine.... i hope. i hate koyo rads....... i actually put that one down to see if someone woulod recomend something better, as with alot of the other parts, if you guys know somethig that does work better, or works the same for less...... pleaseeeee let me know. and yea, as far as electric fans go....go with flexlite?

the ecu is something i was curious about.... i was actually wanting to find a place that sells upgraded ones.... i have not really looked yet. i went to JWT, but they didnt have anything for the CA. any recomendations?

lol... yea dont get caught lookin at Car p0rn at work.... i know its hard not to...... lol

sure, flexalites work.the stock radiator is usually pretty good. aftermarket rads are so cheap anymore and they're easy to replace. so i wouldn't do it until you notice that you really need one. I really recommend nistune, or even at least a fuel controller of some sort. It is possible to purchase an off the shelf uprated ECU that is "good" but generally i've had better luck with going the other way with it. I haven't however had any experience with upgraded ECUs for the ca18det. I'm pulling from experience i've had with other jap motors.Oh, and when you do an air intake, don't just let the filter sit open in the engine bay. Do it so it puts it out of the way in a play where it gets colder air and not hot *** engine bay air. Some people may argue that it doesn't make a difference but if you look at any intake made by a well known long term company you'll see that they either drop the filter in the fender well or somewhere similar. Or they'll make a sort of box that will draw air from outside the engine bay. All cars from the factory have some way of drawing air from outside the engine bay. It is done for a reason.

so you say you have ahad better luck with programing your own ECU? and the program is called nistune? i will def look into that, i dont have any experiance with that personally but im sure i can find shop. and yea, new rads are cheaper these days, unfotunately, the build is, more times than not, cheap as well heh. kinda sucks. well if i can use the stok rad i wil def do that, i just did not know if it would be enough for this build. my overall goal with it, power wise, is about 300hp. and yea i know about the intake heh. ill have to figure smething out when i come to that section i guess.well thanks for your help so far, it is very much appreciated. if you have any other suggestions, or comments feel free to let em loose.
