My automatic transmission is starting to slip.

I wanted to do a manual swap but lots of parts are needed ($$$) and there is some work involved.

What can be done to make the auto stronger?

What other popular transmission will fit my motor (CA18det) either automatic or manual

Thanks for your help

i'm stickin with my auto as well. You can get them to drive how u want to.
I'm gonna try a modding/freshening up one myself. Really don't sound all that difficult
Seems like its just a matter of understanding what components will get your desired result
Shouldn't take much at all to withstand ca18 torque and improve driveability dramaticly
good thread here

Please search, as that's been asked a million times, also, it's poor netiquette to hijack someone elses thread for your own, unrelated question. But since you've done it already, the answer is that you have to swap a CA18 bellhousing over to the KA transmission. Also, 5th gear is taller on the KA, which is actually a good thing.

So, is the CA tranny bellhousing the same for automatics and manuals?

Can I use my CA auto trans bellhousing to the KA manual trans and bolt it to my motor?

Thanks for your help

No. You can swap a manual bellhousings back and forth to manual transmissions and auto bellhousings back and forth to automatic transmissions, but not auto to manual.
