Hi, I'm the new guy here...I just bought a beater S13 chassis to keep me from getting rusty on my driving while I'm here (used to have a Honda, LOL).I don't want to spend loads of money on SR20DET stuff seeing as I already have one waiting for me.To my disgust I brought home my 89 240sx last tuesday and concluded it was SOHC. Blah. Didn't know they came like that here. Rather than actually *fixing* the nasty valve tap that I have I would like to just get into something with more push to it. As I stand right now the only way I'm getting sideways fun is with compound clutching and I don't want to change a clutch on this thing. Somethings gotta give, anyone got the info for me?

Where can I get a CA from??? I looked around last night but I could only find SR's...If I get a CA, can I use my KA transmission? I assume I'll have to change the ecu, but I don't know...Most important, if anyone has a CA setup or knows where to get one, please tell me!!! Thanksps I'll have my wife send some pics of the silvia, we'll see how quickly she gets on it :)

I got mine from Libero usa...but I think I got the last one they had...I picked up my engine for $400 and transmission for $200...I got all the electronics (ie. wiring harness, ecu, etc.) from a member of this board who lives in Japan for $350...

I have some extra parts, including an ecu ;) if you need them...and no the transmission won't bolt up (different bellhousing)

Also if you wanna call up the places that sell SR's they can usually get you a CA...they just don't post it on their webpages (not too many people want CA's :D) I'd also try venus auto...that seems to be a common place to get stuff...expect to pay appx. $1500 for a clip and/or motorset...

I'm looking at Flashioptions.com currently, they're showing a CA swap (I think it's complete) for $1000...Any ups or downs about this company???So the must haves are :engine, transmission, ecu. right?does the driveshaft have to be modd'd?

careful with flashoptions...there's a guy here...rtsol, who ordered from them the same day i ordered from libero (over 2 months ago) and they still are giving him the run around...as far as he knows they haven't even shipped it yet!

And they ship it to a port, not your house...so you'd have to go get it on the east coast...

anyways search for some old flashoptions threads (using the red search button on the top right corner) and read all about them yourself!

Well you have a KA24 turbo right??? Maybe I'll just do that... what are your impressions of it?The engine that's in my lump o' Sh*t right now has a NASTY valve tap that I'd like to get resolved...I wouldn't want to spend more on a turbo kit than on a CA18...I read somewhere on here a KA24 @ 3.5 psi running mid 13's.That's gotta be exageratted (SP?) right? I just want something to aid in tires breaking loose :) and a little turbo sneeze is good as well :)ahh well let me know what you have on your car preez!

then maybe this isnt for you then !!! either would a Ka24de T maybe you should just stick with a NA version with the usual I/h/e ! or buy a fake BOV noise maker ! if your serious about it then good read the Ca fourm from post one back in the day also do alot of Sr thread reading itll help you out , many of us older members do have a habit of just throwin out repetitive questions but that cause we all are a custom to each other but a new person should really do a lot of reading on this because we have discussed much of this alot, hell just search for post with my name on them i bet you can learn damn near everything you ever wanted about the motor! ive done damn near everything you would ever have to, to get a CA running,

and yes a KA drive shaft from a 5spd will fit !

I think that maybe I'm just going to keep it as is... If a CA18 comes under my nose for a very reasonable price then I'll grab it... I just don't justify SR20 money and time when I've got one waiting for me at my wife's place. I just wanted something to keep me entertained until I can go back. But then again, being entertained also means buying tires weekly and every once and while replacing SUS components (no ones perfect) LOL. etc etc and so forth.
