Hi, Iv run my forged ca18det in, done over 2000kms and it's running mint as. Ran it in on 450cc injectors with a T518z set at 10psi. Was wondering if it's safe to add 5degree base timing to have it at 20. I tried it the other day and it ran better, a lot harder, smoother power.. Basically it was wining with no noticeable knock at all. It strictly lives on BP 98ron. And will be staying at 10psi until Iv got a better clutch and bigger injectors and a few other things like new intercooler setup. So yeah what are your thoughts? The motor consists of..CP pistons (factory static comp ratio), spool rods,ARP bolts everywhere, acl race bearings, Tomei headgasket, decent fuel system and z32 maf. Oh and just a set of ca16de cams in the 4port head.

As long as you don't increase the boost, it should be OK. Be aware though that the CA18's combustion chamber has a tendency to reach PCP quite quickly and doesn't usually need a lot of timing to make good power. If you increase the boost at all, I would back it off. If the knock sensor is functioning properly, I don't think you would hear a whole lot of knock anyway.
