Hey guys, wondering if someone has any knoledge about ca18de (n/a) swaps in s13's.
I recently swapped a ca18de (n/a) in my s13 and im having trouble gettin it running. So heres my issue... ihave ca18det harness from wiring specialties(which everything plugs up) but the only thing that didnt fit was the injectors wires. So i took the injector wires from the old ca18de harness and spliced them into the new ca18det harness. The wires are the same size and colors but the only difference is the fitting thats clips onto the injectors. Its the only modification i did to the harness. The car cranks but wont turn over. I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and it started for 2 seconds and shut back off. So i think im not getting any fuel to the engine. Could it be from me splicing the injector wires? Yu can here the fuel pump when yu turn the key and Im most definitely have pressure in the lines. Im out of ideas of what to do.

It could definitely be from your splicing modifications. Are the injectors stock? Are you sure they are the correct impedance?

Do you have the ability to tune it at all? Is your ECU stock? Can you get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

Cool. I guess you could see if you're injectors are even attempting to fire too.
Good job on narrowing it down to a low fuel problem as well (by using starting fluid). It's usually one of my suggestions.

Well, the pulse width is so small at idle and cranking, it may not be enough to actually activate the light. You'd probably need an oscilliscope or something with a high sampling rate in order to see it.

Sometimes you can hear them clicking too, but usually the vehicle is running and you put a stethoscope (or screwdriver) to the injector, and the other end to your ear. Have you resistance checked the injectors to see if you cooked them or not (via incorrect wiring)?
I'm pretty sure they work via the ECU completing the circuit via ground. Maybe you could splice a wire in and ground it quickly to see if the injectors still work. You said they have voltage going to them (with key-on) right?
