I bought and '88 (made in July) Pulsar NX dual cam. Had a blown head gasket when I bought it. I replaced it, fired it up, ran great for a day in the shop. I drove it around the block, and it was missing pretty bad, and the second I came to a stop, it died. That shredded the timing belt and it started leaking oil.

I don't know a whole lot about cars, but more than most girls.. Can ya help me out??

well first try to identify where its leaking oil from, but sadly its an interference motor and by the belt shredding it could have caused a piston to valve collision, you could go through and put a new belt on and retime it and see if theres any problems.

what have you started with?

did you check compression before running or after death?

did you replace the head studs with new or did you re-use?

pictures?

discription doesnt offer too much. smells, sounds, ect?

never heard of a car eating a timing belt.....

As the others have stated, it has probably damaged some of the valves when the belt broke as it's an interference motor. You could try to put a new timing belt back on it, but I seriously doubt that it will run well, and you risk breaking the heads off of the valves and ruining the pistons as well.

As for the oil leak, it could be any number of things. Can you figure out the general area where it's coming from?

Can you tell where it started leaking oil from? Is there a hole in the engine block?

i dont think is damage to valves, is just a head gasket mixing water and oil, whats the compression ratio con the ca18de?

huh? a cooked timing belt could easily cause damage to valves.
