DE or DET? IF it's N/A then you'd have to go way into the engine to get any real power, since it seems like your not hurting for cash, I'd suggest just going with the DET. If you already HAVE the DE N/A, then 'd suggest selling it and getting a DET, Id on't think it's truly worth it, even if your trying to be original. If your building it for a specific racing series that only allows N/A cars, then that would be some info. that would be helpful, so you don't have people like me trying to get you to go the turbo route,

Heck If i wanted to have a fast, compact import car I would go turbo no problem with that. I just wanted to see if anyone has made some power with it. The NA CA has everything it needs to make power, except displacement

i am very tempted to throw my turbo etc on the NA ca i have in my silvia while the DET is being built up. i even have my old DET ecu so i can stick it in, or i can even use the haltech that i just got. and see how much boost he DE can take..

hmmmm the more i type this the more tempting it gets...

anyone want to lay bets on how much boost it can take?

but anyway here is a CA18DE with what looks like mukuni side drafts, and looks like the line up with the second part of the JDM eight port intake manifold, if so you could use the injectors boss to pump race fuel and nitro, and the drafts to pump gas and air. hmmm.... wake up...

i was going to put my DE in my lil bros B12 sentra when my engine is done, either with my DET pistons or leave it NA.. he has crashed the last fast car i had that i gave him..

Quote »anyone want to lay bets on how much boost it can take?[/quote] I would go ahead and install the haltec now and boost the DE! If you tune it right with the haltec, I bet it can take about 15psi and be putting out nearly 300whp. I used the CA16DE and CA18DE and the CA18 is the perfect engine for low-budget sentra-ricers. I actually used to beat up on civic SI's, integras and sentra SE-R's with the SR20DE and when I popped my hood, most of the kids were clueless as to what a CA18DE is. Set the boost retard correctly and I bet you can get that engine to put out 300whp. That 10:1 compression will provide you good torque #'s and should get that turbo going pretty early.

On the FWD, it uses a total of 4 engine mounts and one transmission mount. Actually, 2 torque straps and 2 mounts and a transmission mount. Lowers CG, huh? Cool!

Is that a pic of your engine? I would be interested in the carb manifold if you want to get rid of it.:drooling

i think the "carb manifold" is just the second piece of the OE JDM manifold wiht the secondary intake runners... it has the OE water port, sensors etc...

i think i may boost the DE with the haltech, OE turbo manifold, T3/T04E, 550's and intercooler etc and 20 psi and see what happens, hehe...

i feel silly thinking about it,
