This isnt possible. The ca18det is a turbo engine and the ca18de is na. Obviously. Therefore they are different internally aswell as externally. This also wouldnt work because you would need different ECUs, and a few other things. Why not try and pass emissions with the stock KA and then swap the ca. Depending on the year of the vehicle, cars 95 and older will not have to do emissions in 2007.xtypical360aznx wrote:I'm about to buy a CA18DET powered Fastback 240sx and i live in washington seeing how turbos cant pass emissions around here. It may sound like a dumb question cause i'm not used to nissans but do they make non turbo'd CA18 exhaust manifolds. So i can take off the turbo run it through emissions then put it back on. and if so what do i have to do to readjust the car to being non-turbo other than just removing the turbo and exhaust stuff
****, somebody better go tell that to my car thats running a ca18de on stock det management.davidricardo86 wrote:

It's entirely possible. Disconnect the wastegate arm on your turbo and drive the car. Thats almost exactly how it would drive.davidricardo86 wrote:

Emissions testing varies from state to state. What may be the law in one state, isn't in another. For example, there is no emission testing at all in my county here in Florida.davidricardo86 wrote:Depending on the year of the vehicle, cars 95 and older will not have to do emissions in 2007.
