ca18de idle and running problem.

Ok..so I have a fwd ca18de with a rough idle and when I try to drive it, it seems to choke itself out..I have to press on the gas pedal to keep it going..even than, it will die sometimes and I will have to hold down the gas pedal again to get it started..I have no clue whats going on..I think it maybe a vaccum leak...Ive been told timing....any help would be great.
