does anyone have an idea of how much hp/tq a ca18de would make with cams, intake, exhaust, headers, pulleys?

probably less than a KA with similar mods... unless you're gonna build an N/A monster, its probably smarter to stick with the N/A KA:) especially since the KA parts can be found here, while you're gonna pay an arm and a leg for CA parts from Japan!

yeah, that sounds reasonable... TMS says he thinks he can get a little over 200 with a CA18DE, but thats with some internals done... do a search for n/a CA or something like that. I posted afew non turbo threads awhile back that got some good responses:)

I've been laying plans to build up my NA CA. Shooting for 200hp or better. The major mods will be a 2.0 stroker kit w/11:1 compression, cams & valve train, injectors, EMS, ported head and intake, header and exhaust.

I'd like to do a DET someday but I want to play with the NA version for a while and see what happens. It's gonna be pulling a B11 so it should be alot of fun to drive.

I found a ref that says it's 1,925lbs. Pretty light compared to an S13 which is 2700-2800lbs.

Ahh, but when you guys pick-up the CA18, your cars wil gain some weight; but the power offsets that anyways....

No kidding...the CA is quite a heavy motor compared to and E16.

Even so, 200+hp in a car just over 2k lbs will be alot of fun.

Of course you know who will be providing the mod'd internals for the CA20DE stroker. ;)

I took a 100000 kilometer CA18DE and with a 4-2-1 HKS header, HKS airfilter and the air/fuel mix at around 12:1 it registered 150hp at the wheels, beat one Hachiroku, two tired GTS-Ts, tailgated a worn out FD and glued itself to the fender of a full tune ZC-powered civic. HKS took a CA18DE back when they were new and using only boltons and ROM tuning got 190hp from an 89' Q Silvia. I routinely shifted mine at 8000+ RPM without a hiccup. A 200hp NA CA18DE would be easy to build.

Add to it a modest shot of NO2, say a 50 shot, and it will be nuts.
