Ok I have a 89' Nissan Silvia with the Ca18de in it and I am in the process of turbo chargeing it. My question is will I need an ca18det ecu or can I run my current ECU with A piggyback Computer system on it instead.

I would say, if you get the rom of a det , you can remove your stock rom and install the det rom and see if it works, if it does, your in business.

So you din't burn out the injector driver in the ecu. They work the same way as the dropping resistor, but more discreet.
