My CA18DE blew a head gasket. The cylinder head measured low in the center and high on the ends. I had to fly cut .018 off the surface to get it straight again. How much is too much to remove? Anybody know? We are on a strict budget and are just trying to get running again. We will be doing an engine swap later on down the road when money allows.

You'r alright with that cut, but if you screw it up again, that head is paper weight.

Hey now, you'd better recycle that instead of using it for a paper weight!

We have had a case of disapearing antifreeze in very small amounts for awhile. (free cars are always so much fun) Compression check showed low in #4. I 've been thinking the head gasket was going for the last few months. Where are you getting the data to support your statment? Best regardsMike
