He snapped the EXHAUST CAM, which to my understanding it's the intake on the CA16DE that's better not the CA18DE, and exhausts are the same or at least not better.

If it means anything to any of you, the CA16DE cam elevation is: intake 1.5940/ exhaust 1.5940 and the CA18DE is : intake 1.5950 and exhaust 1.5950. As you can see the CA18DE is slightly better, but it doesn't make a difference which one you get; they're all garbage IMHO. I would spend a few dollars and and get my CA18DET cams reground to some really cool specs that the engine can appreciate.

That's something I never probed into, but it would makes no sense for Nissan to make a 1.6 and 1.8 litre engine, give it the same stroke, give one a bigger bore, make it share almost everything, and then turn around and give the cams a totally different profile! Now, if you're referring to the case of the DET cams vs the DE cams, there are some differences.

yes, the CA16DE intake cam is supposedly longer duration than the CA18DET intake cam, but exhaust same duration, or at least not better. CA18DE duration supposedly same or at least not better, cause no one wants em..

I've heard it's bologna, or so minimal that it's not worth it. I don't think I've heard of anyone who could tell the difference once the swapped it. I say get whichever one is cheapest. Not sure how you snapped a cam though... we don't hear about that too often in here.
