sup everyone, I ran into a problem, i removed my CA18DET from my 90 240sx which was originally Manuel and i recently bought a 91 240sx Auto, i did the whole manual conversion just like the heavythrottle.com said and i even pulled the clutch trigger plug from my 90 240sx (manuel) and put it into my 91 (auto) i wired the harness the same way, nothing different from the first time that i wired the engine. but for some reason the car wont crank when i turn the key and even when i pull the key out the cluster lights stay on (i.e. battey, door, gas etc..) so i'm not too sure what happen there since i wired it the same way as when i wired it in my 90 240sx. any idea's for this problem and any idea's why my engine wont crank? there seems to be some clicking noises from some of the relays that are in the big fuse box which looks like to be the ones that say, EGI and EGI PUMP. any ideas? someone told me that i may have to run an ECU from an Auto CA18DET, since the car was intended for an auto. Hope someone can help! thanks!

from what i know, u shouldn't have to run an automatic ecu. Double check the wires coming from the lower harness to near the battery.

maybe just one of them is crossed or forgotten? it happens

thats not a ground wire, its the relay wire, it activates the starter solinoid. the body of the starter is the ground.

it sounds like the wiring from the 91 is different from the wiring in the 90, which would make sense since they came with different motors.

the clutch switch is pretty minor, you could just connect the 2 wires together and not have to push down the clutch to start.

and it doesnt matter if you run a manual or automatic ecu, that makes no difference.
