Hey gang,I'm trying to help a fellow ca18'er who is on a thight budget.

This guy has a CA18DET with ECU no loom and also has a redtop S13 SR20DET loom and ECU.

Can he modify the TPS, MAF, ECU plugs and use the SR20 loom on the CA18 with SR20 ECU or CA18 ECU???

I tune only stand alone ECU's, so I cant help him, just hope someone here can.......

RYSO.

ebay the sr loom and Ecu and buy a ca18det set instead, that Sr stuff will probably sell fast.

I would think from an upgrade standpoint, it would be better to run the SR ECU and loom. I don't know how much work you're going to have getting it to fit. It may be well worth it to sell the SR20 stuff and get the CA loom.

But to answer your question, yes, I believe you can do it. I think one of our members here (Knightrider, IIRC) is running an SR ECU. IDK, if he used an SR harness or not though.

If you use a s14 zenki sr ecu I believe it plugs right into the ca's harness. However you do have to modify the ca harness, i talked to knightrider about this awhile ago.

I do run a SR20DET Ecu with the ca18det wiring in my pulsar. So far it's pretty much easier, to update my map's and tuning the ecu. The only thing is a more expensive way than the standar ca18det and wiring. You will need a few thing. The SR20DET ecu, a dauther board but with the dauther board you will be able to use the consult port of the ecu on a laptop or computer so more easy to see the code and also you can use calumsult software to see all the reader of the sensor, like water temps, oil pressure, boost, timing ect... quite impressive.

Well worth the price and effort for me.
