dunno if is been posted before...didnt feel like searching...i run a SR in my S13...but enough of that...this is being posted for my best friend (his comp is down at the moment)

WEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL...he got a CA motor set...came with 2 harnesses (one on the motor which was cut and one seperate whole harness)...he had to send the harness off for wiring (it wouldnt plug into the chassis harness located near the headlights...they were TOTALLY different plugs...which was a complete surprise to me as my SR one plugged right in) ne who...he got the harness back on friday...we hooked it up tonite...HOWEVER...it was missing the plugs for the fusebox...again something that was on my SR harness that worked fine...the available plugs he had were 1 six prong and one 4 prong (i believe)...however...the fuse box only has an 8 prong and a large 2 prong plug that are female...ive never really seen this problem on ANY SR ive swapped or worked on...this is all new to me with the CA harness...did the wiring service wire it wrong (he sent in both his KA and CA harnesses)...or is there a different fuse box on the CA S13s???

edit: we tried to start the car and it did nothing...just clicked...i thought at first it may have been a grounding issue...i checked his grounds...they were all grounded from the motor where they should be...i did notice one thing about the grounds...on the SR there are a few more engine grounds that go to the fire than on the CA...should they be there on the CA??? (on my SR there are 2 grounds that come from the motor and literally plug into the fire wall using a small mesh wire and small plug)...checking the grounds is when i discovered the absense of the fuse box plugs from the harness...however...when i unplugged the entire harness from the motor...his brake light and one other light still remained lit in the gauge cluster...dont knwo if this makes a difference...just thought id add it for a bit more detail on the situation

The wiring for the CA and SR is the same. I don't know why you didn't have to splice wires near your fuse box for your SR, but that's what everyone else needs to do. Follow the instructions on http://www.srswap.com and see if that helps. If it doesn't, after carefully reading the instructions on that site, explain how your friend's car doesn't apply to them. Good luck!

ok...im not talking about the plugs that go to the chassis harness...the chassis harness being the plugs located behind the battery (right behind the headlights)...im referring to the plugs located directly on the side of the FUSE BOX...you cant miss em...he DOES NOT have the correct male ends on his harness to match up to the female ends on the fuse box...this was NOT an issue with my SR swap...ive NEVER seen this before on a S chassis...he has 1 six pin male connector and 1 4 pin male connector i believe coming from his harness...the fuse box has 3 plug connectors (one is plugged in properly at the bottom)...the 2 left are 1 eight prong female end and 1 two prong female end

edit: i checked his old cut CA harness...this harness DID NOT have the correct plugs...was the CA fuse box different??? if it boils down to it i may just find him the correct plugs from the KA harness and wire them in...however some of the colours of the wires differ in locations (like one green/yellow wire that was on the 6 prong was located on the 2 pin on the fuse box connector...etc)

OK, All of the plugs that go into the fuse box area are off of the lower harness. If you used the CA lower harness you will have a problem with them and they have nothing to do with the engine harness and the shop doing the wiring wouldn't have touched them. You have 2 options, get a lower harness from a 91-93 240sx, or modify your CA lower harness with new plugs from a 91-93 240sx.

i used my stock 89 lower harness, and just wired the knock sensor straight to the ECU.

^i ithnk thas what i am going to have to do....

i thought the knock sensor was in the upper harness? at first i thought it was in the lower harness, and that explains why i didnt see a plug for it because the sohcc didnt havve a knock sensor.

so i guess i am going to have to do the same as you, but i got preety lucky i tihnk, on my engine the actual plug for the knock sensor was still on it i believe. is the knock sensor on the passenger side of the engine, inbetween pistong # 2 and 3, kinda under the throttle body? sort of behind that little handle?

sorry to thread jack btw but i didnt think it needed its own thread.

thats the only way to do it! Retain your lower KA harness and hardwire the knock sensor to the ECU

nope, it should all fit fine... what plugs aren't reaching? In all honesty you really only need the reverse sensor and the speed sensor... the other plugs are 4th and 5th gear sensors (if you don't plug them in, you remove the ECU speed cut).
